Top 5 Anti Aging Food

Exercise isn't that only way that helps to slow the aging of our cells. The food we consume also plays an important role in this!

So how do we determine whether what we eat can help us with anti aging? Firstly, if the food contain high antioxidants, it can potentially help with anti aging as antioxidants can neutralize some of the free radicals that damage your DNA, which in turn, the DNA damage is the cause of aging. Next, omega-3 fatty acids also helps with anti aging as it strengthens the skin cell membranes. And definitely all those vitamins (A, C, E and K) will help us with collagen production, protection against sun/UV damage, as well as cell repair.

 

#1: Blueberries


Blueberries are rich in Vitamins A & C, as well as rich in antioxidants.


The antioxidants found in blueberries may help to protect the skin from damage due to the sun, stress, pollution and also prevents collagen loss


How: Blueberries works well with smoothies or fruits bowl!


#2: Spinach


Spinach is rich in magnesium and vitamins A, C, E and K. Due to its high vitamin C content, it enhances collage production to keep our skin firm and smooth, vitamin A strengthens our hair and vitamin K would help reduce inflammation in cells.


How: Spinach soup! Or you can add it into your salad bowl!


#3: Salmon


Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which strengthens skin cell membranes. It helps to keep the moisture in. Consuming salmon twice a week helps reduce chronic skin inflammations. It is also a healthy source of lean protein, which helps with muscle repair.


How: You can consume it raw (sashimi) with wasabi, steam it or grill it (might be a little unhealthy)


#4: Tomatoes


It is an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium. It helps with the maintenance of our skin cells and protect it from skin damage.


How: Consume cherry tomatoes as it is, topping for salad/sandwich


#5: Nuts


Many nuts, especially almonds and walnuts, are great sources of vitamin E. It may help repair skin tissue, retain skin moisture, and protect skin from damaging UV rays.


How: Consume as a snack or add it into your salad!
